The Correct term for it must be Carved.
Anyway... I just think it could add a good touch to KDE4 if we had the option.
Some say its too 1990's... oh well... so who's to say its not 2000's.

User studies on greyed-out menu features show that users get frustrated, because they don't understand why something is greyed-out. Of course removing it is worse...
